I don't use social media
sites but on hearing of the death of Acker Bilk I wondered if I had remembered
correctly, and if I would be able to find on-line, that the folk group I was in
then had opened the show on the night of May 20th 1962 when Acker Bilk and his
band appeared at the St Andrew's Halls Glasgow.
I did not find the answer
but the person who might have it is Mary
McGonigal of Particks People She had
written 'I went to see him and his band yonks ago in the St Andrew's Halls in Glasgow
